Once you’ve got your ad converting into affiliate commissions it’s time to test the paid solo ads. The solo ads appear by themselves as separate emails from the main ezine issue, in most cases they’ll have a significantly higher success rate as a result.

Here’s the best strategy…

1. Subscribe to each of the ezines above using a free email account you have that’s seperate from your main one. This way you can see the quality of the publication and it will qualify you for your free classified ad.

2. Place your free ad with one of the ezines above and be sure to track the affiliate link you use so you can measure your success. Testing and tracking of your ads is critical to your success.

3. Run the same classified ad in each of the ezines above until you find one that converts the most clicks into affiliate commissions.

4. Once you have an ezine that responds well to your classified ad run a paid solo ad, again track your response rate.

5. Keep on testing different variations of your solo ad within that ezine until you have a clear winner. Then continue running your winning ad until your response rate drops off. When this happens move on to the next ezine and test there with your winning solo ad until your numbers drop.

If you follow this system you could rotate your ads through the 6 ezines listed above and “potentially” make some huge commissions as a result of your consistent testing and tracking.

If you need more ezines to advertise in here’s a short list of directories you could also try:

10 Steps To Successful Affiliate Article Writing

By Brian Terry on Monday, February 25th, 2008

Article writing is one of the best things you can do to drive targeted traffic to your affiliate website.

The main benefit is an article will establish you as an expert and a valued resource people will want to mention and link to. However article writing goes one step further than this because once you’ve written your article and submitted it to various article submission directories it soon begins spreading around the internet as people start using it in their websites, newsletters and magazines. Each time your name and the link to your website remains within your article.

One of the first articles I had published generated over 50,000 unique visits to my website in just a 24 hour period, that’s how powerful they can be if it’s picked up and published by the right website.

I’d like to give you a really simple yet highly effective 10 step formula to writing articles that just about anyone can follow and write compelling articles with.
Heres all you do…

Step 1.  Select the theme of the product you’d like to promote, so for example if you’d like to write an article that promotes BigSellingNiches.com as an affiliate chose the theme of “niche marketing”.

Step 2: Visit GoArticles.com and type in the keyword phrase “niche marketing”. You’ll then get a list of articles about this subject.

Sep 3: Pick out a few of the articles that mention niche marketing in their titles, print them out and read through them, this is your research on the subject of niche marketing.

Step 4: Now write your own headline using this simple formula…

What you do is mention a number in your headline along with a benefit to the reader, in other words what will the reader get from reading the article… for example:

7 Steps To Niche Marketing Success
10 Ways To Boost Your Niche Marketing Profits
7 Secret Ways To Research Profitable Niches

Do you see what I mean, just follow this headline formula.

Step 5: The next thing to do is to write out a short introduction paragraph to what you’re showing people. This introduction leads people in to the article and introduces what it’s going to be all about.

Step 6: In this step write out what those steps, ways or secrets are. It could be you start with an sub-heading for each one followed by a short paragraph with more explanation.

Using the sub-heading for each of the steps, ways or secrets makes it easier for your article to be scanned by the eye and more appealing to read.

Keep the formating of your article so that it has lots of short paragraphs, doing this again makes your article easy to read. The way it works is the easier your article looks to read the more people are likely to want to read it.

Step 7: Avoid including your affiliate links within the article and keep links to other websites to a bare minimum. The reason for this is because articles that try to sell or pitch a product don’t get published, it’s as simple as that.

Another reason is too many links in your article will send people off to another website and not finish reading your article.

So how can you leverage your article for traffic? Simple read the next step.

Step 8: Write a “resource box”, “Bio” or “boiler plate” for your article. These are simply a short  paragraph written in the third person about you, the author of the article. In your resource box you can include a link to your website which is how you get traffic to your website.

Your resouce box could say something like this:

————-
Your Name Here is the author of www.yournamereviews.com which gives you all the facts you need to know about how to profit from niche marketing.
————-

Step 9: Once you’ve written your article read it out aloud and ask someone else to proof read it for you. This is just to make sure it’s free from typo errors and it makes grammatical sense.

To help you write your article there’s a special technique you can use that helps you to write quicker and more freely. All you do is set up your word processor program ready for you to type into then turn off your computer screen.

By turning off your screen and writing your article you’re stopping yourself from editing what you’re saying as you write, this helps you become more creative. It doesn’t matter if you make loads of mistakes, just turn your computer screen back on again when you’re done and make all the edits you need to make.

Step 10: Submit your new article to these article directories…

How to create a website with free hosting

By Brian Terry on Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Once you’ve registered your domain name it’s time to set up your website which will feature the affiliate reviews you’re going to write.

Previously I mentioned to you about the importance of branding. I know I’ve mentioned it to you time and time again, I do this because it’s such an important aspect of that few people really understand and leverage.

Did you read this article post about how to write an affiliate review? Great! because here’s how to build a website where you can feature them all.

It’s this website where you drive a majority of your traffic, it’s also through this website that you build yourself a list of subscribers you can contact time and time again.

So are you ready to get started?

The first thing you should have done by now is to have registered a domain name for yourself with GoDaddy.com or another reliable domain registrar.

Here’s what I want you to do next…

Step 1: Go to www.Weebly.com

Step 2: Create a free account

step1 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 2: Give your website a Title (Make sure your title includes your main keyword phrase). Recently I created a short video that shows you a powerful method of keyword generation using the tool. You can watch it here.

step2 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 3: Add the elements your home page is going to need, I would select from there “Paragraph with title” and start from there. Remember what you’re creating here is a page for a review you’re going to write for a Big Selling product (as an affiliate).

Don’t worry too much about how it looks right now, you can easily edit things later on, including the design of the website.

step3 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 4: Once you’ve added the elements you think you’re going to need to get started you can begin editing them…

step4 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 5: Remember it does not have to be perfect! just get started.

One other thing you can do is add your own custom HTML which is perfect for adding your autoresponder form code. As I’ve suggested before you should include your optin form on every page of your website.

Be sure you have something of value to offer people inreturn for their details. For example you could offer them a copy of this report which you can add your affiliate links to.

step5 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 6: Once you have the basic structure of your page in place you can change the design of your website.

step6 How to create a website with free hosting

Step 7: Now you have your first page more or less set up you can start thinking about what other pages you’re going to have on your website. Take out a piece of paper and plan out the content of your site.

Here’s what I suggest you do…

1. Write an affiliate review of BigSellingNiches.com and BigSellingCoversions.com and feature them on your website. I showed you how to write an affiliate review here.

2. Set up one page for each of these reviews that you write

3. Create an “About Your Name” page which contains information about you, what your background is and how you’d like to help people (include your optin form on this page too).

Step 8: Now that you have your site structure in place it’s time to add the domain name you’ve purchased to your website.

All you do is go to the “Settings” tab at the top of the page, select “change site address” then select option C. All you do then is enter your domain name and press the continue button.

When you do this you’ll then be given instructions on how to point your domain name to your new website.

adddomain How to create a website with free hosting

So there you have it, how to set up and create your own website, this is the simplest way I know of on how create a website with just basic internet skills.

Owning your own website with it’s own unique domain name name are essential first steps to take in becoming a successful Big Selling Affiliate.

You can do so much more with Weebly as I’m sure you’ll soon discover, including adding video and RSS feeds. I suggest for now that you keep things really as simple as possible then grow from there.

As I mentioned earlier perfection isn’t nearly as important as just getting it done and launched. The best approach to take is to just improve things as you go along.

How to tap into 60+ million highly responsive, targeted visitors

By Brian Terry on Thursday, February 21st, 2008

This has got to be one of the simplest methods ever for tapping into an extremely high quality source of traffic. Speaking as someone who’s tried just about everything there is I can say this with absolute certainty.

So where does this traffic come from and more importantly how can you tap into it?

It’s Yahoo Answers and you tap into it by answering people’s questions (you become the expert).

Basically Yahoo Answers is one huge forum of people posting questions on just about every subject you can imagine. The answers people give them are rated based on how helpful they are, it’s through this rating that you build your reputation.

I can guarantee you that no matter what niche you’re in there will be someone with a question for you. On top of this many of these questions and answers rank extremely well in the search engines for long tail search terms.

Here are the benefits of answering questions on Yahoo Answers:

1. You’re tapping into an extremely responsive group of users simply by being a helpful authority. You see by being nothing more than helpful you’re actually pre-selling yourself to anyone reading the answer you give.

2. In the answers you give people you ethically refer to those websites you own or are an affiliate to. That’s where you get the highly responsive, targeted visitors from.

3. As I mentioned earlier those answers you give along with the original question become ranked in the search engines which pulls in even more people to your affiliate links in the answers you’re helping people with. What’s more these are people who might not even have heard of the Yahoo Answers service before.

Helping people with their questions is much like the blog commenting or forum post traffic technique, so it can prove to be time intensive if you get too carried away with it.

All I suggest you do is to take 10 - 20 minutes a day answering 1 or 2 questions, set yourself a limit so as not to tie up your time too much. Over a 3 month period this could easily add up to 110 or more mentions of your affiliate links which are permanently archived on Yahoo.

It’s important to remember that this traffic technique has an accumulative effect over time, so to begin with the traffic you get might not be that high, but after a month or so of posting your answers you’ll begin to build momentum and larger volumes of traffic.

Before you go off and sign up for a Yahoo Answers account here are a few essential tips to help you maximize your results…

  1. Ensure you always provide quality answers.
  2. Don’t just leave an affiliate link because you’ll have your answer marked as spam and you could even have your account deleted.
  3. Work towards obtaining a “best answer” rate which is calculated by the questions you’ve answered in total and the number of times your answer has been chosen as a “best answer”.The better your best answer rate the more respect you’ll gain in the Yahoo Answers community, which means the more times you can reference your affiliate links without being flagged.
  4. Be the first person to answer the question wherever possible because this gets you the most exposure.
  5. Reference other websites apart from those you’re an affiliate to or own.
  6. Don’t include your link in every post you make. It’s all about building your reputation to grow your score, if you always include your link it’ll make people think all you’re interested in is pushing your website or affiliate link.
  7. A great time saving idea is to answer questions with content you already have. Unique answers always provide the best results because you’re establishing yourself as an expert and not someone good at gathering information.
  8. Always try to include your keyword terms in your answer, this helps to increase the quality of the traffic you’ll get from the search engines.
  9. Ask a few questions now and then. If you have questions of your own, related to absolutely anything, go ahead and ask them. This will help to ensure you’re account is not completely one-sided - again a potential negative flag showing the community that you’re only there to provide answers and muster new traffic and leads.Asking your own questions will show you’re an active member of the community on both sides. It’s also a great way to have other people do research for you at no cost - think about that when you have a bit of writers block the next time you sit down to write your newsletter or blog post.

So once you’ve created your account how do you find the questions to answer?

I recommend doing both a specific keyword search and also to dive right into the category located down the right side of the page. Also focus only on questions that do not have an answer yet or have yet to have a best answer selected.

So what next?

  • Write down a plan of attack for this method of traffic generation.
  • Decide how many questions you’re going to answer each day or week (and stick to it)
Set a regular schedule to follow and stick to it
  • Once a month check your results to see how much traffic you’ve generated and how much of it converted into customers. Then based on this information decide if it’s worth continuing with.

In summary Yahoo Answers is a really very effective way of promoting your website and affiliate links provided you follow the guidelines I’ve given you above. Because you’re answering questions this traffic technique could be just as good as writing articles because you’re already serving an existing audience.

Don’t forget to keep a copy of all the answers you give because you could easily expand on this into other forms of content like articles, blog posts, ebook reports even PowerPoint slide show videos.

Here’s the link to Yahoo Answers

Let me know how you get on and be sure to use your Big Selling Affiliate links in as many of your answers as you’re able to.

Free non-stop affiliate traffic with a twist

By Brian Terry on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

What we’re going to do today is leverage massive amounts of free traffic by combining several zero cost list building and traffic tools like InstantBuzz, TrafficSwarm and Your Lucky List to get more targeted traffic to your Big Selling Affiliate links.

Here’s how it works…

Step 1: Go to www.InstantBuzz.com and create a new account.

InstantBuzz.com is a traffic network which you access via a toolbar you install into your web browser.

Within the toolbar small one-line ads are displayed from other members, the more you surf those ads linked to within your toolbar the more credits you earn towards your ad being displayed throughout the Instant Buzz network.

Step 2: Go to www.TrafficSwarm.com and create a new account.

TrafficSwarm.com works by you surfing your start page where mini-ads are displayed in a list. Each time you click on one of those ads you earn credits which gets your mini-ad showing up on other people’s start pages. It’s a very simple system.

Step 3: Go to www.YourLuckyList.com and create a new account.

To get the most from MyLuckyList.com you need to build a Lucky List Matrix which is done simply by referring others to the service. It’s through this downline you build that enables you to send them emails on a weekly basis. The more promotions you do the more people you then get in your downline matrix.

I highly recommend that you upgrade to “PRO” because it allows you to send out more frequent mailings and earn commissions on your downline when someone else upgrades.

By now you’ve signed up to all 3 of these services, don’t write any ads for them or begin promoting them just yet because this is where the traffic twist comes into play.

What you need to do is to build up your list and referrals on “Your Lucky List” …this is important because you can contact the same people over and over again instead of the one off traffic hits that you get with Instant Buzz and Traffic Swarm.

Here’s how we leverage one service against another…

Step 1: Advertise Your Lucky List referral link within InstantBuzz

Step 2: Build your Instant Buzz downline with Traffic Swarm

Step 3: As you build your Instant Buzz downline you earn more credits

Step 4: You then promote your Big Selling affiliate links to Your Lucky List referrals.

Here are the short ads you’ll need to write…

1. Write and ad that advertises Your Lucky List within InstantBuzz

2. Write an ad that advertises Instant Buzz within TrafficSwarm

Each of the list and traffic services above will tell you how much advertising space you have and might even provide you with pre-written promotional materials.

Finally…

3. Write an ad that advertises a Big Selling Product to the members of Your Lucky List downline matrix (this is why I recommended upgrading to a PRO account, you can email your downline more frequently).

Whilst it’s free traffic you’re generating here it’s going to take a bit of time to set up. Each of the sites above are very easy to join and operate and by following the simple steps above you’ll soon start making great progress and begin generating some serious traffic.

How to create an affiliate link redirect

By Brian Terry on Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

There’s one thing all “super” affiliate have in common…

They all work on building instant brand and name recognition because the more brand awareness you have the faster you acquire new customers.  It works very simply, the more you see or hear a product or a persons name mentioned the more likely you are to give them a chance.

In previous blog posts I’ve gone into more detail about the importance of creating your own brand, part of this brand is your websites domain name.

As an affiliate your brand is something you use to develop trust and recognition, this is where the importance of setting up redirects comes in to play.

Here’s a classic example of applying your brand through the use of an affiliate link redirect.

In your emails to your subscribers you’ll be promoting and recommending various products, over time your affiliate get to know, like and trust you. So when they see a link to your domain name they know it’s a link they can trust, because they know it’s coming from you.

I’m hoping that by now you’ve registered a domain name for yourself and perhaps even followed the suggestions I made to you in my recent article: Are you developing a brand for yourself?

What I’d like you to do next is to create a redirected link for each your affiliate links.

So instead of http://www.bigsellingniches.com/checklist.html?aff_id=2?camp_id=27 (as an example) in all your promotions you use the link: http://yourdomain.com/checklist

This now brands your website wherever people see this link, which could be in the emails you send to your list, the articles you write or the forum posts you make.

Can you see the power behind this idea?

The other advantage to this is if ever you decide to change the product you’re promoting there’s only 1 link to change and that’s the file that makes the redirect work.

Also a short link for each of the affiliate products you’re creating is going to be much easier to remember as you’re surfing the net for marketing opportunities to promote it.

So how do you create these affiliate redirect links?

It’s ever so easy, provided you have an HTML editing program. Because here’s all you need to do step-by-step…

Step 1: Download this zip file which contains a .php file. It’s this .php file that creates the redirect for you.

Step 2: Open this .php file in your HTML editing program, the code you’ll see should look something like this…

redirect How to create an affiliate link redirect

Step 3:
All you do now is change the text where it says “http://your-affiliate-link” to your affiliate link, then save the file and upload to your hosting account.

Don’t change the .php at the end of the file name otherwise it will not work, it must be index.php. You can change the file name but not the extension.

Step 4: What I recommend you do is create a directory folder within your hosting account for each of the products you’re promoting as an affiliate. Then give it a name that you’ll recognize as being the link for that product.

Step 5: Make a record of all your affiliate link redirects so you can easy grab them whenever you need them.

That’s all there is to it.

If you don’t yet have an HTML editor you can get one here for free along with training on how to use it.

Revealed and exposed: the AdWords ads Google won’t show you!

By Brian Terry on Saturday, February 16th, 2008

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time I’m sure that by now you know what is and how it can help you grow your affiliate business.

Essentially is a system integrated into the heart of .com search results.

If you’ve used before you’ve probably already seen the ads they feature on their results pages, these are called ads.

What you might not know though is those ads you see on those results pages are shown to people in your geographic location and might not be shown to other people in other locations in your country or other countries around the globe. It’s all part of their ad targeting system.

As a Big Selling Affiliate using to drive traffic to our Big Selling products this is important to know when researching the global market place for advertising oportunites within .

I’ve got a tip here for you that could potentially cut down your competition 10 fold, but you can only do this if you have access to a specific “hidden” tool few people know about.

You see have created a special web page where you can preview the ads shown to other people in other countries. This is important because these are the ads you won’t see when you search in your own country.

Before I give you the link to this powerful and very useful I’d like to give you a quick demonstration so you can see what I mean.

First of all I enter my search term…

adpreview Revealed and exposed: the AdWords ads Google wont show you!

Then I choose the which country I’d like to preview the ads for. So if I was in this country these are the ads would show to me for the search term entered above…

swisscountry Revealed and exposed: the AdWords ads Google wont show you!

In this case I’ve chosen Switzerland, when you’re doing this it’s also important to consider if this country has a population with access to credit cards (if you’re selling something) and that they can speak English.

Then just press the  “preview ads” button and will show you the search results page that’s delivered to people in the country you’ve chosen along with the ads on the right side of the page.

Here’s what people see in Switzerland when they search for “web design tips”…

swissresults Revealed and exposed: the AdWords ads Google wont show you!

As you can see only 1 ad appears! There’s plenty of room for you to target this country and get some good targeted traffic when you do.

Let’s compare this to the results delivered to people in the United States…

usresults Revealed and exposed: the AdWords ads Google wont show you!

Whilst you can’t see them all here I counted 24 ads over 4 results pages. Competition is pretty fierce in the US for this search term. This makes your cost per click a lot higher than if you targeted the smaller markets places which have fewer competitors.

I’m sure that by now you’re itching to have a look at this excellent tool so here it is…

Google AdWords: Ad Preview Tool

Be sure to bookmark it because you’ll want to visit it each time you set up a new campaign to see which global markets have the most potential for your Big Selling Affiliate offer.

Top 7 Pay Per Click Search Engines
